Add a new Version of this Dockapp
You may add a new (or even old) version of this dockapp by using
the link above. This way we can be sure that this application will
be available even if the project's homepage goes down (did that ever
happen to you? :)).

What does this do?
The description of this (as of version 0.1.1) is too vague. What does wmsystray do? Can it dock any application or do apps have to be programmed specifically to know about wmsystray in order to work? The author's homepage mentions that "rhythmbox" works with wmsystray; what other apps work? What is the advantage of a systray app over a standard dock app?
It's a freedesktop.org compliant system tray.
It doesn't "dock" any applications. It's a dock app for use with window managers that utilize dock apps.
Programs have to be programmed specifically to use the system tray. GNOME and KDE have modules for this.
I don't know which apps support it, but there are many. xmms-systray, gaim, xpad.
The programs specifically design their system trays to expose information about their program. They aren't programs on their own, they compliment some larger program.
Nice!
This App definitely completes KDE/GNOME-Support for WindowMaker. Nice work, thanks a lot.
It's a pity that all running programs create a symbol in WindowMaker, because with wmsystray, some wouldn't need to! ;)
A fun trick to take care of that is to pull the clip out and place programs you don't want to see into an area that is off-screen in the clip's normal place.
new version
I've created a new version, that fixes some bugs and adds support for more than 4 application in the system tray - http://vlad.minisat.ro/~vlad2/dockapps/
